Winter Outing: Tour of Monkstown Schoolhouse

Saturday 4 October 2025: Guided tour of Monkstown Schoolhouse which was established in 1791 for the education of 130 girls and boys. This tour will discuss the history of the schoolhouse from the Georgian period to the twentieth-century and the structure’s recent restoration works from 2022-2024.

We will meet at 11 am, Monkstown Schoolhouse, Carrickbrennan Road, D01 H4C6

Spring Outing: Tour of Leinster House

Friday 14 February 2025: OPW Guide team will take us through the history and evolution of Leinster House from a private residence for the Duke and Duchess of Leinster in the eighteenth-century to the current home of the Oireachtas.

We will meet at 10.45 am at the Oireachtas Visitors Entrance, Kildare Street (beside the National Museum of Archaeology)

Outing B: St Luke’s, The Coombe, Dublin 8 led by Mr Charles Duggan, DCC

Friday 16 October 2020: In November 2017, building contractors JJ Rhatigan completed a 13-month restoration and repurposing of a 17th century Huguenot Church on Newmarket Square, Dublin 8, into a three-storey modern office. The reconstruction works was carried out by DTA Architects in association with Carrig Conservation.

We will meet at 2.30 pm at Thomas Burgh House, Newmarket Square, Dublin 8.

RSAI Outing C: UCD School of Archaeology

Saturday 20 October 2018: Following his successful lecture at the RSAI last year, Prof. Aidan O’Sullivan will welcome the RSAI Members to the UCD School of Archaeology.

We will meet at the main door of the UCD Sutherland School of Law, at the south end of the UCD campus at 11am and the cost is €10 per person.
