Heritage Week 2017 – Saturday 26 August
Celebrate this year’s ‘nature’ theme at Society House: Explore the drawings of noted antiquary George Victor du Noyer and visit our unique eighteenth-century garden. Tours run hourly from 11am to 3pm.
Free Entry to the House, 10pm to 4pm
On the Ground Floor*:
We celebrate nature at Society House by looking at George Victor du Noyer – a prolific Irish artist, geologist and antiquary. A small exhibition of du Noyer’s drawings will be held in the Library.
In the garden
Our gardener Eric Stout will answer your questions about the specific requirements of walled gardens.
Weather permitting, kids can enjoy drawing and colouring in the garden!
On the First Floor:
Our famous Tea rooms will be in operation again, catered by Jenny from Luncheonette.
If it rains, our Children’s Corner – inspired by du Noyer, will be held in the first floor rooms. Enjoy a quiet cake and tea while the kids do some colouring, or before you venture out to Archaeofest!
Please note:
*Due to the nature of Georgian buildings, we are unable to provide wheelchair access.
Parking on Merrion Square may be available on the day, but the area is mapped as a high-demand zone and so this cannot be guaranteed. Parking is pay and display by card or mobile and is operated by Dublin City Parking Services.
