Caroline McGee holds an honours degree in History of Art and Architecture and Spanish from Trinity College Dublin, where she is now in the final year of her doctoral study of nineteenth-century ecclesiastical decorating firms in Ireland. Her research interests include nineteenth- and twentieth-century public history and cultural heritage and the application of Web 2.0 technologies to collections management, research and teaching. She has lectured and written on Irish art and architecture and maintains the website ‘Gothic Past: a visual archive of Gothic architecture and sculpture in Ireland’, which was created with funding from the IRCHSS and the Heritage Council.
