The Royal Society of Antiquaries is governed by a board of Council Members, presided over by a President and officers. The President of the Society chairs general meetings and is assisted by two Honorary General Secretaries. The Board also includes an Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Editor and Vice-Presidents for each province in Ireland.

The daily management of the RSAI is taken care of by the Higher Executive Officer of the Society, along with the Librarian, and a number of volunteers.
